Totally Nebular - Captain Benson

Totally Nebular is a band made up of some young lads from Southern Florida. This is a video for their song "Captain Benson". It is a very enjoyable tune and even more enjoyable video. It was shot by Carter Smith. He killed it.

It's hard to post about this band without mentioning Animal Collective. There. I did it.

John Hancock +11 LIVE @ Vagabond Fridays

John Hancock (the founding father of the ANR) will be performing his recently released record, Antenna Death, with an eleven piece band on June 11th at the Vagabond. Horns, guitars, keys, lady singers and way too many drummers will make up this Parliamentary inspired event including members of Animal Tropical, Plains and ANR. Swampy, sleazy craziness will ensue, so don't sleep on it!

ANR Gear Stolen In Montreal

ANR + MillionYoung had their van broken into 2 nights ago in Montreal. Passport (Michael John Dewey Hancock), sensitive documents and a laptop (black MAC Book Pro) were stolen. If you have any information on this please email 10Kislands@gmail.com

For bands going thru Montreal, beware. It seems like there is a pretty tight criminal ring set up with anarchists who wash cars during the day and rob vans at night, using lithium battery detectors to find iPods, computers, GPS's, etc...

Great article from The New York Times regarding sound quality of music today. The effects of technology and ease of procurement versus creating a listening experience.

Plains is considering releasing an alternate version of the debut album (coming this summer!) availble in 5.1, could be dope surround sound experience.

Crystal Castles Rush Release New Album

Crystal Castles will be rush releasing their sophomore album (via NME). Originally slated for a June release, the disc will see digital daylight this Friday April 23rd due to an early online leak. Great move in my opinion, something MGMT (the band) thought about doing, but MGMT (management/record label) fought against. See what I did there? Play on the word management... Good stuff.

Sweatstock was a huge success. It was such an AMAZING day for all of Miami. Kids, adults, artists, bands, store proprietors, old people, drunk people, straight edge people (a lot of Minor Threat t-shirts)...
